I haven't read the last book yet; I won't outright DNW spoilers in case you don't remember what's from which book, but I'd prefer stuff from the first two!
Honestly I nominated these five ships but any combo of Citra, Rowan, Curie, and Faraday I'm down for (with the only / relationship being between Curie and Faraday) -- for example, Citra & Curie, or Citra & Faraday. And as far as / goes between Curie and Faraday, that can be requited or un-, past or present or future, ambiguous, whatever. I'm really not picky. =)
They're all so interesting and bring their unique perspectives to their Scythehood. I'm totally here for canon compliance or divergence; so many interesting possibilities for how things could have gone. I don't think Curie would have taken two apprentices in the first place, but what if she had (instead of Faraday)? Would she have faked her death or dealt with it in a different way? (I don't think she would have faked her death, tbh. Doesn't seem her style.)

Greenglass House Series - Kate Milford

I've only read the first book, haha, though I don't mind things from later books being incorporated.
Clem and Georgie! Before the reveal of their story I loved the tension between them and the clear sense of history -- their rivalry and yet how they respected each other and knew each other so well. The reveal that they both loved Owen was so deflating.
In this case, interpret / as liberally as you want. As long as at least one of them is interested in the other sexually and/or romantically, I'm down for past, present, or future involvement (or it can be unrequited!), whether that's FWB or dating or pining or a one night stand or who knows what. As far as Owen goes: maybe one or both realises she cares more about her rivalry with the other than about Owen himself; maybe when Clem gets with Owen, Georgie realises she's envious of both of them; maybe they get involved in some sort of poly arrangement. I just think they're neat and would love to see a different story imagined for them.
I'm down for 1st/2nd/3rd person POV, any tense, epistolary (I loved the way their story was told like a fairy tale), interactive fiction, non-linear storytelling, whatever you'd like to throw at me! Something to do with the Odd Trails (?) RPG in-canon would be really cool.

Matt Cruse Series - Kenneth Oppel

I've only read the second book, but I don't mind canon from the other books being included.
I loved the thrill of the adventure! The danger of being up so high, needing oxygen tanks, the giant jellyfish, the rival treasure hunters... But it was also nice when they got a moment to breathe, like dancing happily on the airship on the way up to the Hyperion. I didn't like the way the love triangle was dealt with and I'd love to see Kate, Matt, and Nadira more at ease with each other. (I'm also cool with shipping any combo of the three, including all three together -- just don't want a focus on jealousy or discomfort between them if any of them are "rivals.")
I also thought the Hyperion was so cool and I'd happily read something about the ship, whether that's from the POV of someone working there during its heyday when Grunel was alive, or maybe one of the jellyfish after it's been abandoned, or a ghost of one of the people working there?
I'm down for 1st/2nd/3rd person POV, any tense, epistolary, interactive fiction, non-linear storytelling, whatever you'd like to throw at me! Interactive fiction I think would be especially cool from the POV of someone discovering the ship.

Wayfarers Series - Becky Chambers

Pepper is so, so good, and I want her to find happiness. <3
I don't have so much to say about this one, just such resilient characters adapting to a very different world than the one they grew up in, and figuring out who they want to be. Anywhere on the fluff to angst spectrum is great.
Blue/Pepper/Jane I'm cool if you want the Blue/Jane 64 leg to be platonic or ambiguous; in fact, all of it can be a bit wibbly, especially if it's set pretty soon after they meet or after they escape the planet. I imagine if Pepper had had Jane there with her the whole time she wouldn't have needed to latch onto Blue so strongly in order to escape; how would he have navigated escaping with two people who had lived nearly alone for years? It could also be, for example, Blue pining after either/both of Pepper/Jane in an established relationship, or Jane pining after Blue/Pepper in an established relationship. I'm really not picky about my / relationships, they can be unrequited, pre-relationship, post-relationship (maybe shifting relationships as they adapted to their new lives), etc.

The Voice in the Night is a great, creepy short story about an island covered in fungus that starts growing on people until they're entirely covered. I think it would fit in great in The Dawn Treader! Is it part of the island where their nightmares come true, or a separate island? Maybe one (or more) of the Lost Lords landed on the island and that is where they remained? Feel free to really lean into the horror of it -- the fungus could get on any of them, I don't mind.

Something about a person/people being overtaken by something growing on them or in them, and it overtaking them and blurring the lines between the person and the fungus, the fungus taking control -- whether the person now wants what the fungus does or still has some sort of mind of their own freaking out underneath -- is really iddy to me. I particularly like situations where people think they've solved it by scraping the fungus off, or cutting off the affected body part, but it's too late and the fungus comes back later.
(It seems like the fungus doesn't kill the creatures it overtakes, but maybe it does? Or someone dies in an attempt to stop the fungus? Go for it.)
DNW for this one: sexual content; otherwise, have fun. None of the characters are sacred.
Cass & Max-Earnest & Lucy: On the total other end of the spectrum, I'm hoping for some fun world-bending fluff. What if Pietro had the Wardrobe down in the basement along with his other magic things and Cass & Max-Earnest got into Narnia? What if instead of using whatever rituals they used to stay young, Dr. L hadn't aged along with Pietro because he had been in Narnia for years (you'd have to bend Narnia canon for that, but I'm down)? Imagining Max-Earnest getting to really talk fast and tell lots of jokes with Talking Squirrels.

Mink River - Brian Doyle

I've listed these 5 ships as inspiration/to show you some of my favourite characters, but given the canon, a fic that weaves together many different stories with different characters is absolutely welcome.
No Horses/Owen is so sweet; I'd love to see them flirting with each other in Salish and Gaelic, or Owen comforting her through her depression, or a moment from her pregnancy with Daniel. What was their wedding like? How did it blend their cultures? Particularly fond of beach settings but forest is also excellent.
Maple Head & No Horses: I love the way Maple Head comforts her daughter and the way they move between grief and laughter.
Cedar & Worried Man, Cedar&/Worried Man/Maple Head: They're all great. I love Maple Head's sass but I'd also love to see a loving moment from her. Cedar's involvement could be him pining after them, or only involved with Worried Man (with Maple Head's permission), or even the two of them pining after him; I'm not picky! I just think there are ~ vibes. ~ Maybe when they first fished him out of the river, totally nude (and I mean up to like that first year together, not just the actual day they found him), they had a few rolls in the hay, but then settled down to married life? But maybe one or more of them still think about it fondly and wish for a repeat?

While reading the book, it just hit me hard how Fatale was becoming more stable and genuinely open to other people at about the same time Elphin turned into a more fleshed-out character and also reached a major point of transition in her life, and then I wanted them to continue getting to know each other and fight crime off-into-the-sunset together.
It doesn't have to be super romantic. A developing relationship, realisation of attraction, or art without e.g. kisses or hearts works too. They're pretty messed up, so feelings being tough for them works for me as well as overt romance does.

Eight Days of Luke - Diana Wynne Jones

Anything that's a little chaotic! And with fire motifs. Luke is so good at creating chaos, it would be fun to see. Maybe they're running from a monster from myth (reconfigured to their setting, as per canon; it can be Norse myth or whatever you prefer), maybe David has opened another magical door, maybe Luke has managed to tick off thoroughly human people. It would also be nice to see an "aftermath" kind of atmosphere, where the chaos is over and they're recovering together.
For David and Astrid I'd also love a hug. Whether it's a strained, awkward one as they're still settling into their new relationship, or a really solid and loving family hug. Maybe David's done great at cricket and she's congratulating him. I have a huge soft spot for the new family they've established and them working through the negative parts of their past.
With David/Luke it would also be good to see them holding hands, kids with a first love kind of way - but there's a touch of danger/greater divine presence to it. Luke's shadow showing more of his true self? David's just holding hands, Luke's perceiving something more like David's grip dragging him away from the snake-related torture of millennia? Or you really can't go wrong with the fire motifs, that provides plenty of danger.

I've only read the first book, haha, though I don't mind things from later books being incorporated.
Clem and Georgie! Before the reveal of their story I loved the tension between them and the clear sense of history -- their rivalry and yet how they respected each other and knew each other so well. The reveal that they both loved Owen was so deflating.
In this case, interpret / as liberally as you want. As long as at least one of them is interested in the other sexually and/or romantically, I'm down for past, present, or future involvement (or it can be unrequited!), whether that's FWB or dating or pining or a one night stand or who knows what. As far as Owen goes: maybe one or both realises she cares more about her rivalry with the other than about Owen himself; maybe when Clem gets with Owen, Georgie realises she's envious of both of them; maybe they get involved in some sort of poly arrangement. I just think they're neat and would love to see a different story imagined for them.

I've only read the second book, but I don't mind canon from the other books being included.
I loved the thrill of the adventure! The danger of being up so high, needing oxygen tanks, the giant jellyfish, the rival treasure hunters... But it was also nice when they got a moment to breathe, like dancing happily on the airship on the way up to the Hyperion. I didn't like the way the love triangle was dealt with and I'd love to see Kate, Matt, and Nadira more at ease with each other. (I'm also cool with shipping any combo of the three, including all three together -- just don't want a focus on jealousy or discomfort between them if any of them are "rivals.")
I also thought the Hyperion was so cool and I'd happily read something about the ship, whether that's from the POV of someone working there during its heyday when Grunel was alive, or maybe one of the jellyfish after it's been abandoned, or a ghost of one of the people working there?

I don't have so much to say about this one, just such resilient characters adapting to a very different world than the one they grew up in, and figuring out who they want to be. Anywhere on the fluff to angst spectrum is great.
Blue/Pepper/Jane I'm cool if you want the Blue/Jane 64 leg to be platonic or ambiguous; in fact, all of it can be a bit wibbly, especially if it's set pretty soon after they meet or after they escape the planet. I imagine if Pepper had had Jane there with her the whole time she wouldn't have needed to latch onto Blue so strongly in order to escape; how would he have navigated escaping with two people who had lived nearly alone for years? It could also be, for example, Blue pining after either/both of Pepper/Jane in an established relationship, or Jane pining after Blue/Pepper in an established relationship. I'm really not picky about my / relationships, they can be unrequited, pre-relationship, post-relationship (maybe shifting relationships as they adapted to their new lives), etc.

Something about a person/people being overtaken by something growing on them or in them, and it overtaking them and blurring the lines between the person and the fungus, the fungus taking control -- whether the person now wants what the fungus does or still has some sort of mind of their own freaking out underneath -- is really iddy to me. I particularly like situations where people think they've solved it by scraping the fungus off, or cutting off the affected body part, but it's too late and the fungus comes back later.
(It seems like the fungus doesn't kill the creatures it overtakes, but maybe it does? Or someone dies in an attempt to stop the fungus? Go for it.)
DNW for this one: sexual content; otherwise, have fun. None of the characters are sacred.
Cass & Max-Earnest & Lucy: On the total other end of the spectrum, I'm hoping for some fun world-bending fluff. What if Pietro had the Wardrobe down in the basement along with his other magic things and Cass & Max-Earnest got into Narnia? What if instead of using whatever rituals they used to stay young, Dr. L hadn't aged along with Pietro because he had been in Narnia for years (you'd have to bend Narnia canon for that, but I'm down)? Imagining Max-Earnest getting to really talk fast and tell lots of jokes with Talking Squirrels.

I've listed these 5 ships as inspiration/to show you some of my favourite characters, but given the canon, a fic that weaves together many different stories with different characters is absolutely welcome.
No Horses/Owen is so sweet; I'd love to see them flirting with each other in Salish and Gaelic, or Owen comforting her through her depression, or a moment from her pregnancy with Daniel. What was their wedding like? How did it blend their cultures? Particularly fond of beach settings but forest is also excellent.
Maple Head & No Horses: I love the way Maple Head comforts her daughter and the way they move between grief and laughter.
Cedar & Worried Man, Cedar&/Worried Man/Maple Head: They're all great. I love Maple Head's sass but I'd also love to see a loving moment from her. Cedar's involvement could be him pining after them, or only involved with Worried Man (with Maple Head's permission), or even the two of them pining after him; I'm not picky! I just think there are ~ vibes. ~ Maybe when they first fished him out of the river, totally nude (and I mean up to like that first year together, not just the actual day they found him), they had a few rolls in the hay, but then settled down to married life? But maybe one or more of them still think about it fondly and wish for a repeat?

While reading the book, it just hit me hard how Fatale was becoming more stable and genuinely open to other people at about the same time Elphin turned into a more fleshed-out character and also reached a major point of transition in her life, and then I wanted them to continue getting to know each other and fight crime off-into-the-sunset together.
It doesn't have to be super romantic. A developing relationship, realisation of attraction, or art without e.g. kisses or hearts works too. They're pretty messed up, so feelings being tough for them works for me as well as overt romance does.
- I'd really enjoy these two in action. Back to back fighting, dealing with some wild comic book scenario while the rest of the team is elsewhere.
- What's going to happen with Elphin now that she's fulfilled her quest, but also now that the team has gelled. Does she leave but decide to return to the human realm? Does Fatale want to help her find her place, even if it means going into the fae realm, because having somewhere to belong is a pretty tender spot for Fatale? Art where they're stepping through a portal/fairy ring or something like that together would be amazing.
- I just kinda want happiness for Fatale. Her circumstances don't allow for easy fixes, but something about how she continues to settle into her new life and works on her issues, or a scene of one moment when she's uncomplicatedly happy. Easy to please here!
- Elphin doing magic for Fatale.
- Something new crops up with Fatale's cyborg parts that she has to deal with, whether it's an advantage, disadvantage, or bit of both. Maybe there's too much iron in some part of it and they have to work around how that affects Elphin?
- It could be fun having them in a different genre than superhero comics. Whether it's a different genre of comics, or some other literary form. Feel free to get meta with it the way the book does.

Anything that's a little chaotic! And with fire motifs. Luke is so good at creating chaos, it would be fun to see. Maybe they're running from a monster from myth (reconfigured to their setting, as per canon; it can be Norse myth or whatever you prefer), maybe David has opened another magical door, maybe Luke has managed to tick off thoroughly human people. It would also be nice to see an "aftermath" kind of atmosphere, where the chaos is over and they're recovering together.
For David and Astrid I'd also love a hug. Whether it's a strained, awkward one as they're still settling into their new relationship, or a really solid and loving family hug. Maybe David's done great at cricket and she's congratulating him. I have a huge soft spot for the new family they've established and them working through the negative parts of their past.
With David/Luke it would also be good to see them holding hands, kids with a first love kind of way - but there's a touch of danger/greater divine presence to it. Luke's shadow showing more of his true self? David's just holding hands, Luke's perceiving something more like David's grip dragging him away from the snake-related torture of millennia? Or you really can't go wrong with the fire motifs, that provides plenty of danger.
